I just finished Mass Effect 1/2 and wow

I love these games Probably my Favorite games besides Rockband this gen.

I tried ME on the 360 a few years ago and it just never clicked. I picked up both games up on Steam for a total $15 and it's probably the $15 I've ever spent.

I kind of plowed my way through ME and didn't do any side missions, I loved it. ME 2 I took my time and did most all missions. I put 21hrs in to it which is insanely rare for me these days.

The one thing that sucks is Miranda was my favorite character in ME 2 and I f'n lost her at the end So what does this mean? She will be in ME3 but I won't be able to have her on my team or does she die for everyone?

Also, I'm confused as hell on the DLC for this game on PC. I can only get it from this Bioware Social Network? WTF is in Bioware points for and is it working even paying for?

But glad you finally got into the games Mogo, they are amazing. I know some people sort of slam the 2nd one which there are some things lost in terms of RPG aspects, but the game is a work of art and is really fun. Its like for me if ME3 isnt a TRUE to the word rpg, some other game can give me that rpg feel.

But yea both 1 and 2 are amazing, glad you enjoyed them man!

Damn I loved these games. Two of my most played games this gen. I loved 1 more just for the story and for me I never experienced a story like that in a video game before. It will always hold a special place in my heart for that reason alone. And when you say you lost Miranda does that mean she is dead? If so then she will definitely not be in ME 3 for you if you carry over your save.

I'm not a big RPG guy so ME2 rode the perfect line for me. The reason I avoided it for so long was because I thought it was a more hardcore RPG.

And yeah, Miranda is dead I can't play ME3 with her dead. I don't know what to do, I may have to blast through it on easy and keep her alive. It is possible though right? She doesn't just die for everyone?

mass effect 2 was definitely more polished and streamlined. Unfortunately that was to the detriment of RPG aspects like seth said. But then again the equipment system stunk hard in ME1.

If you have a save before you went on the final mission just load that up. There is guides to what decision to select to keep peeps alive. Also she is loyal to you correct? Because if not you have to go even further back and do her loyalty mission.

Worst. Endboss. Ever. As great as those games are, that fight is still the first thing I think of.

I didn't have anyone die during the suicide mission. You need to do everyone's loyalty mission, purchase all the necessary ship upgrades (you can get them from Jacob, Garrus, and I think Tali), and make the right decisions during the suicide mission.



I love Mass Effect 1 and 2 just about equally. There are some things I prefer about one game over the other, but all in all I think they're both incredible. I'm really looking forward to Mass Effect 3.


This reminds me that I have yet to buy the Arrival DLC. I should get that at some point. I don't know how purchasing Bioware points works on the PC; I have the 360 versions, and you just use the standard Microsoft point system there.

That's different Mogo. I would have to alter my decision if it was a real live Yvonne Strahovski. Then it would be her over Tali for sure.

You can get through without anyone dying. I have a paragon and renegade save and both of them went without anyone dying. ^_^

Someone already mentioned to follow the guides.

I like Miranda and Tali but I can never romance them because I always play as a female Shepard.

Mogo, although I don't normally put these on my backlog list...they are still on there.

I started a few months ago doing what you did; I was plowing through ME with the hopes of slowing it down more for ME2.

That has not changed. I have time until ME3 is release in early 2012, but if I could complete ME in July and ME2 by the end of the year I'd be a happy gamer.

I love the series, as do I love most Bioware games on the whole. I beat both and was very happy with my choices and results.

However, now that I unfortunately have a new Xbox live account and Xbox I get to play through both again in order to play Mass Effect and get the most out of it. Can't wait to get to play the games again!

I may be a Bioware fan in the making. I was thinking of trying Dragon age origins. I was also thinking of playing KOTOR again. I only got 1/3 of the way through back in the xbox days.

Mass Effect totally kicks ass. Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed are probably tied for most interesting stories this generation. They both have kick ass game play too

Awesome you got to experience those games. Part 1 was better with story but part 2 was more polished and less frustrating and overall was the better game.

BTW, Miranda got dat ass and I liked Ashley as well.

I romanced Liara in my first playthrough in ME and then in ME2 romanced Garrus on an alternate file.
