Used to, I passed on a lot of them, because I couldn't afford them with part time work and various bills.
Now, I'm much more inclined to get them. I have more money and I have this collector mentality.
Infamous 2 Hero Edition is mine now, and I've got the Catherine Deluxe Edition preordered on Amazon and will also be getting the Uncharted 3 Collector's Edition.
I guess at the end of the day, for me, it comes down to how much I care about the game, the overall cost of a CE, and how cool it is. I generally don't buy many new games these days, anyway, due to a large backlog and wait for stuff to drop in price. So it's usually a series I really love or look forward to. Like infamous or Uncharted. And it depends on what it includes. I like neat stuff, like statues or little neato memorabilia.
Your thoughts?

Never have due to monetary constraints.
Still don't, focus mainly on backlog and "Greatest Hits" titles, so I probably never will.

That depends if you actually get collectable items. A lot of games think "Collector's Edition" means pay 10 bucks more for a couple extra items in the game. Where is the physical cool things like a concept art book? Soundtrack? Developer diaries?
Witcher's 2 did it right, man.

I'm a sucker for Collector's/Limited Editions.
Currently I have the epic edition of Gears of War 3 on pre-order, for example.
But I only buy CEs if I was planning on getting the game anyway.

I like them in theory, but I very rarely buy them. The ones I have, it seems like I look at the bonus stuff once and never touch it again.

Depends, i like limited editions more than collectors actually. The collectors are neat but generally for 100-120 bucks and some helmet or stature or something, it just doesnt really catch my attention.
But LE versions with nice packaging and some added features is perect for what i like to collect!

Yeah, it depends. I have several in my collection (2 dozen or so), but I only get them when I feel they offer the best bang for the buck.

I used to love CEs, but I stopped buying them in the last year or so. They cost too much, and I almost never use the additional content or items that come with them.

Depends on the game, Catherine Deluxe pre-ordered, getting the Gears of War 3 Limited Edition.

I used to buy them.. When I moved I realized I had all these boxes I haven't looked at in years and tossed all that crap out. I'd buy every game digital if possible I hate having to find cd's + keys although I still have my ork figurine from the warhammer online CE

Totally depends on the game and what's in the box. Like WoW has the nice hard cover art books (and pets! squee!) and CoV had those little figurines.

I used to buy them more often when they felt like they had some value, even sentimental.

I voted depends. Back in the day it would have been a yay but this gen it has mostly been nay. I guess it came down to the fact that as I got older I realized that most of the garbage that came with the CEs were things I never used or really looked at. So I stopped buying. The only one I have purchased this gen are the Mass Effect 2 one because I absolutely love the game and the Brothers In Arms one because I got it for 10 bucks. I will get the ME3 one as well. I also did get the Fable 3 one because I had credit and it came with extra stuff I was able to use in the actual game.

If it is a game I will probably love I usually get them. I too have the inFamous 2 Hero Edition and I can't wait to find a use for the murse that came with it. And CN, I too want the U3 CE.
I donno, I like getting stuff. And I always prefer my CEs to have real stuff (statues, murses, lock boxes, lunch pails, etc.). I don't mind useless digital costumes or items, but I am always a sucker for something I can put on a mantle, even if my wife will make me take it to work after a week.
