I'm not familiar with her, but Emily Rogers was posting some pretty big Cafe rumors that were confirmed by IGN and other major gaming sites. And everything she says here does sound very plausible. Before her predictions she says this: "Anyways…I guarantee I will get every single rumor below correct. I am so confident in the rumors below that I’ll make a bet with you guys.
I will not make a new article until each and every single rumor below is proven correct.
And once every single thing below is proven correct…THEN I’ll make a new article so I can brag and gloat about how awesome I am. Even if it takes a year after E3 to prove everything below, I will not write a new article until every single thing below is announced. Because every single thing below is true.
IF ANY RUMOR BELOW IS PROVEN FALSE, I WILL NEVER POST AGAIN. I KNOW WHAT I'M POSTING IS ACCURATE. DON'T WORRY. I EXPECT TO BE BACK SOON SINCE EVERYTHING WILL BE PROVEN CORRECT BETWEEN E3 AND THE END OF THE YEAR."So here we go: WII[/u] *Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be re-confirmed to come before Christmas (Before end of 2011). *Kirby for Wii will get release date and proper trailer. Also coming before Christmas (Before end of 2011) *Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story coming to the U.S. before end of 2011. CAFE[/u] *There will be over 20 playable games for the new Nintendo console at the show floor. *I guarantee Pikmin 3 for the new Nintendo console at E3. I was the first person to say Pikmin 3 for the new Nintendo console. I was the first person to say it would be at E3 and I’m sticking with my sources on this one. *Soul Calibur 5 is a launch game for Project Cafe. It will be on the show floor. Will have exclusive content. Nintendo pushed Namco to make Soul Calibur 5 become Project Cafe’s fighting game for launch the same way that Street Fighter 3DS became the flagship fighting launch title for Nintendo 3DS. *Ubisoft wants to launch with at least 3 games at Project Cafe’s launch. *You will see Nintendo sway more toward Western publishers than Eastern/Asian publishers. Nintendo feels that Eastern/Japanese publishers have lost their persuasion over the gaming market. They don’t feel japanese publishers have the appeal to gamers like they did years ago. They feel companies like Activision, Bioware, 2K Games, Rockstar, Blizzard, Valve, Electronic Arts, are dominating the gaming industry. Nintendo feels that North America is a more important gaming market than Japan and they will go to the publishers that appeal the most to North America. Nintendo no longer considers Japan to be as important of a market as they use to believe. *Nintendo wants to launch the console with a big first person shooter that has a lot of mass appeal. They realize that is a popular genre in North America. Expect a few big FPS games at E3. Nintendo is not stupid when it comes to the appeal of first person shooters. They understand the appeal. That’s why they persuaded companies to like Ubisoft to make Red Steel or persuaded Activision to make Goldeneye 007 for Wii. *The team that worked on Smash Bros 64, Smash Bros Melee, and Smash Bros Brawl transferred the assets of the game to another developer to work on it. The original Smash Bros team is not working on this new Smash Bros title. *Rockstar is working on something for Project Cafe. It will most likely not be revealed at E3 because Rockstar normally doesn’t reveal stuff at E3. *No harddrive. Nintendo chose to go with a cheaper alternative way of storage. This is a fact. Sorry if you’re disappointed. Nintendo would have to make a special deal with a harddrive manufacturer, and they decided not to. *You will be able to transfer some of your downloadable content (Wiiware/VC games) from Wii 1 to the new Nintendo console. *Much more improved online system. Nintendo went to another company to help them with their online gaming services. I know it would probably make a lot of people upset, but I don't really care whether or not it gets a hard drive, especially if it lowers the cost of the system.

No Hard Drive is fine with me as long as they offer an alternative like SD storage or something like that.
I really hope the Xenoblade and Last Story rumors are true. I've been dying to play those games.

I wanted to hear more about the tech behind it but obviously we will get this info soon at e3.
I hope the graphics are MUCH better than the 360 and PS3.

The stuff about Rockstar and the western developers is in line with rumors I've heard as well. To take it one step further, I've heard speculation that Nintendo paid Rockstar for GTA5 to be exclusive, and that's why Rockstar's stock went up a while back.
In fact, these rumors are pretty much in line with all of what I've heard. Part of why I am so excited for E3 this year. Nintendo wants to change the game, so it should be interesting.

I meant in terms of Nintendo having avoided big name western developers previously. Nintendo's changing their own game, not the whole game.

I meant in terms of Nintendo having avoided big name western developers previously. Nintendo's changing their own game, not the whole game. That's mostly because they have to or lose out on the audience that grew up with them. I personally feel that it might be too little, too late. I don't think that they'll find that happy medium where they are the darlings of the casual market and satisfy the hardcore gamer. They're going to have to make sacrifices that I don't think they'll know how to make. They essentially lost a console generation due to not advancing their hardware enough. Hell, it wouldn't be so bad if they at least added some form of anti-aliasing. Nobody would've bitched about the lack of HD. Sorry enough of my ranting on Nintendo. I do hope that they succeed. I'm still a sucker for Zelda. And I do hope that the Online system has been revamped, because holy crap is it a stinker right now.

Nintendo's going to have an uphill battle, for sure. I'm going to have to be really wowed to even think about their system on launch, considering how disappointing the Wii has been for me this gen.
But I think opening up to a more mature type of game is a step in the right direction.

I'm kind of hoping the opposite with Project Cafe. Just a week until I get my hands on it!

I'm a bit disappointed in no hard drive. I really think a hard drive can help out the performance of a lot of games. So if there is no hard drive I hope the storage system does allow for improved performance, particularly in large open world games.
I hope all of these rumors are true. They look very sensible to me, at least. Very logical. Well except for 20 playable games at E3 for Cafe... I'm not really buying 20 games.

I just want that damn machine to wow me technically and then get things back to where they were even in the GameCube days.

They essentially lost a console generation due to not advancing their hardware enough. Wait, what??? I thought Nintendo WON this console generation. They may have SOLD the most, but they sure don't have the best library. I went through this argument with a buddy of mine last week and I guess it depends what you consider a "Win." For me, the library is what makes a winner. PS2 and the PS1 all had great libraries, which is why they won the last two. This year I think it can go to either MS or Sony depending on how they finish off their consoles. Anyways, what I actually meant was that their hardware was still from the last generation, it was pretty much like they weren't in this one. Which in a way, was what Nintendo wanted. They said from the beginning that they weren't competing with Sony and MS. So that's what I meant by lost. Not that they lost this round, which I do believe they did with their lackluster game library, but that they decided to skip this generation hardware-wise.

I should count the games in my wii library. It might be as big as my libraries for the other two.
I love a ton of wii games right along side my ps3 & 360 games.

Not that they lost this round, which I do believe they did with their lackluster game library, but that they decided to skip this generation hardware-wise. I honestly think the PS3 has the most lackluster library this gen. Of course, that's mostly because I have a 360, where the (usually better) versions of 3rd party games are found. All that leaves are PS3 exclusives, which for me were pretty much 'meh' overall. The Wii is a very different machine, and they were able to find success not only in an entirely new market, but also with tons of exclusives. I always find it funny when someone would complain that Wii didn't have multi-platform games like... I dunno, Bayonetta, Lords of Shadow, Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil 5, Dead Space or Darksiders. It's like, yeah. That's the point. The Wii wasn't built to get those kind of games. That's why there are tons of exclusives that you can't find on the other current-gen systems. The Wii may have missed out on the above, but what it DOES have are these: MadWorld, Muramasa, No More Heroes, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Goldeneye, Monster Hunter Tri, Red Steel 2, etc. It's a different system, so it gets different games from 3rd parties. And that's not even mentioning stuff from Nintendo themselves. *shrugs*

You're one of the few that I know of that have that big of a game library for the Wii. Everyone else I know is just a handful of games. Games that begin to collect dust almost immediately. Not saying that there aren't any good games on the system, just that overall, their lineup is weaker compared to Sony and MS.

^ My Wii library is larger than my other current-gen systems, too. Although the 360's is pretty close, especially if you count downloadable games.

He has a few "party" games for his Wii (also owns a PS3) but most of his Wii content is downloadable old games.

And that's not even mentioning stuff from Nintendo themselves. *shrugs* I completely understand that was the point. I mentioned it in a post earlier. Which is why I also mentioned that in a way, they lost out on a generation because they didn't upgrade to something more powerful like MS and Sony did. They decided to chill in the previous generation. They may have some decent games, but it surely didn't do enough to keep 3rd parties from going "me too" and just throwing out crappy shovelware. Of course, in the end, it's all subjective. I have no problem with people enjoying the Wii. I'm glad they are, because myself and others don't, unfortunately. I've played a few of these games mentioned, and they sure didn't wow me. I definitely gave them a chance but they're just not for me. Also, for me, the stuff from Nintendo is getting stale. I love Zelda but I couldn't even finish TP due to how much it bored me. Mario Bros. is cool with friends from time to time, but it's pretty much the same ole game, just now with co-op. and the list goes on. Brawl is probably one of the very few that I truly enjoy.

Yeah, I really hope that Skyward Sword does something different. I still haven't finished TP.
My problem with Zelda games now is that they start feeling tedious after a while. I always get through most of them but get bored close to the end and stop playing, and don't finish them until later. I had that problem with Wind Waker, which I eventually beat. TP I still haven't finished, Spirit Tracks I still haven't finished. I think the only recent one I didn't stop playing until I beat was Phantom Hourglass.
I don't know if it's nostalgia glasses or what, but I don't remember ever having that problem with the N64 Zeldas.

I guess we'll find out when OoT releases later this month. I'm in the same boat, so I hope that SS will come out for the new system with something fresh. I guess we'll find out about that next week. Because when I played it at last year's E3, it felt more towards the N64 games than TP.

Personally, I'd love to see some serious RPG releases on Cafe that aren't developed or published by companies like Bethesda. I'm curious about what Ubisoft has in store.
As far as the Wii library bashing goes, I currently own a PS3 and a Wii and am a former 360 owner. The libraries for the PS3 and 360 are so similar now that there really isn't any big difference between the two save for a) XBL beats PSN and b) Sony's hardware is better quality/more reliable. Both libraries are flooded with generic (yeah, that's what I said) FPS's but that's what the American market is about right now. Honestly, I wonder how many of these guys/gals playing COD and games like it actually grew up on Mario, Sonic and Link. I think it's more likely mostly younger gamers who grew up on PS1 and later.
There are so many gems in the Wii library and it's an undeniable fact that the Wii whoops both MS and Sony on platformers. I'm so excited to see/read/hear about Project Cafe! Hell I wasn't excited in the least for the 3DS but that was before I started looking into upcoming titles like Shinobi, etc. I can only hope that Nintendo doesn't try and clone the other 2 with Project Cafe because twins are enough, we don't need triplets!
