Putting out feelers for Outsiders podcasts

Was talking to some of the team here and were thinking how it would be nice to work into some podcasts. As ive said before im not like a pro in that area but im here to help and make it work. Neo is going to be the main gun runner on this, so if you are interested lets talk here a bit and figure some things out.

Dragonface i know youre down for the podcasts man, so thats awesome. We can talk more guys but yea, im just trying to be the middle man here to get that aspect of Outsiders rolling and hopefully we can have something solid going on.

So post here if youve some interests. Even if its doing some here and there, im sure that will be fine as well.

I don't care if the podcast is short. As long as it is tight with some good commentary and the audio doesn't sound like an echo chamber I think it would be great.

I've read a lot of the comments from you guys, but a back and forth dialogue with some of you would be great to hear.

Honestly, I'm not sure the crowd is here quite yet especially without a content side of some kind.

Before my current site we were a different site with a lot more people than are here and on my site currently combined and we didn't get that much action from the podcast. It's just tough to get a decent sized audience going.

Yeah, that's a good point about the audience size. As I said, this was all preliminary stuff anyways.

I will say though, I have been directed to forums and various gaming sites as a direct result from stumbling across a podcast. And with the popularity of social media - like Twitter and Facebook - it's never been easier for word of mouth to spread. Something to consider as we continue to grow.

Same here but English is my 3rd language yet my most fluient . I'd be down to do a couple, but with the scehule to go down into the computer room, the next time avaiable is Thursday.

You have to start somewhere.

Im not worried about an audiance size honestly, if however many guys that make up a podcast do some and we twitter them, we facebook them, we put them on youtube and we further ourselves to the extent that we can, it will get it out and about.

But hey even if our userbase here ends up enjoying them, thats quite alright too. Im not here to break records and have a site that will crush a place like IGN in its prime but we are building and every podcast out there im sure started small, any site that started at one time had a couple people.

If everyone just kicks into gear and wants it, its all about wanting it for yourself. If everyone says hey this site im a part of, i been here since day 1 almost and its a great place to talk games and listen to some podcasts, thats what i love to see and what i want to see.

So yea, im not to worried about content side of things and or having some massive audience. If we put up a nice podcast, Neo you work it and we get some interesting people talking, we will put it out there...we will take our podcasts around and deliver them to wherever the need be and just hope for the best with it.

Thats where im at with it all.

How are they recorded btw, on skype or something?

It is going to pretty difficult to get good sound quality if the people are not in the same room with a decent recording setup, but tolerable sound quality is very possible over various VOIP services assuming people can invest in a halfway decent mic and we do a good bit of sound checking and testing beforehand.

See i never ever knew people do them in the same room hah, course i never gave it much thought but that makes sense.

Either way guys, Neo will round this up and if you guys can help him, work it out with him etc etc...to test it out and try it out by all means go for it.

Im here to help if i can. Just remember anything we do will be built for the enjoyment of our audience here and we can try to further the listening ears by many means, so yea just wanted to point that out.

Im a firm believer in everything starts somewhere and for us to keep progressing these are the nice things i feel we can do, so hope we can get it worked out!

Yeah. Remember guys, this is something meant to be just for fun. Sound quality isn't gonna be a top priority here. I'm not saying that this won't blossom into something down the road. Who knows what the future holds. I just thought this would be a cool way to talk with some other GO's about games, and as an added benefit maybe generate a little buzz about what we're doing over here.

I'm compiling a list of interest parties and I'll roll out some details in the coming weeks. Thanks for the interest and/or support!

I'd be interested in coming on and talking about handhelds and stuff. Could do a chat about the life the DS had and it's future, the 3DS and maybe some PSP/Vita stuff as well. I don't play console games a HUGE amount anymore. But I'd love to gab about handhelds.

I'd definitely try and throw the word out as well. I could post the link on other forums I post on.
