I just finished Infamous 2 and just wanted to ramble about some initial thoughts:
First, the game is good. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It is different in some ways than the first but mostly in good ways IMO as I was never a big fan of the jumping type puzzles that you had to do in the sewer and a few areas in Infamous 1, even though they were relatively easy. The "hero" and all the main characters are likable and relatable and very well acted out voice wise but that being said, I liked Cole's old voice better but I got used to it by the end of the game.
The story is much improved and I enjoyed the ending quite a bit. Its one of the few endings that actually seemed to have some meaning and it tied into the original game nicely, including the part where you had to decide to "kill your girlfriend" and why that choice of "toughening you up" was so important for Cole's future self and for the end of the game (good side).
Graphically, the game was much better than the first and while it isn't Killzone or Uncharted, the graphics are very well done with a high frame rate.
Controls were a bit easier than the first, especially with the magnetism where you clamp onto things.
Combat was more fun in this one and there are a LOT more powers to use, too many in most respects but a lot of them were very cool and fun to use, even if not that great during combat situations.
Overall, I give the game a solid 9 out of 10. Its a great game and most importantly, its fun. I might play through it again for the bad side, we will see. This easily ranked up there with Assassin's Creed Brotherhood for me, which is one of the best console games I have played in the last 6 months.
