I am glad that you have fun playing COD. That is hard to argue with. But I will give it a shot.
1. Any game that you play with a good group of real life friends can be an absolute blast. Case in point, I have played matches in Brink with real life friends that were quite fun. But Brink isn't a very good game.
2. You play team tactical in COD? That is like playing Splinter Cell Conviction because you love bright colors in video games. What I am saying is that there are better games out there for team-based tactical shooters. Any of the Battlefields or Halos are good examples.

Any of the Battlefields or Halos are good examples. I meant that I play team tactical with real life friends on my team. We always play against randoms each time we play. So it is mostly us 4 vs. the world and I never have a terrible time when playing. It is an extremely polished game with the best controls when comparing it to the competition. Black Ops really did a nice job in eliminating the ridiculous killstreaks by not stacking them and when you play 4 on 4 it is an extremely fair battle. MW1 was amazing and MW2 was a complete mess. Thankfully Treyarch got it right this go around. Also, I enjoyed Halo Reach (didn't have enough staying power) and love Battlefield 2's epic and team orientated gameplay. Battlefield's controls are not in the same league as Black Ops nor is the gameplay in general...it is not as smooth and responsive. To each his own but it seems as though this thread is about Call of Duty as a franchise and there have been hits and misses. But to stay it is weak is very unfair. I definitely will be interested to see how Battlefield 3 turns out and also with MW3 and see if they can clean up the shitty mess that was MW2.

I suppose you are right about that. It is unfair to roll all of the CODs into one. I really liked COD4. MW2 was definitely a mess. Then BLOPS felt like more of the same to me. Tiny maps getting voted for every time, spawn camping, RC bombs.
Why can I still drive a remote controlled car bomb after I've been killed?

I've never played a COD game. I generally do not like "realistic" military shooters set in the "real world". I want sci-fi or fantasy. Halo, Bioshock, Resistance, Metroid Prime, Red Steel 2, etc.

You can make arguments like that for any game.

I guess I just expect my realistic shooters to be more realistic. I'm not trying to nit-pick. It's not like I dislike BLOPS multi only because of the RC cars. There is a ton of things that have driven me crazy about MW2 and BLOPS multi.
Another example is M16 vs AK-47. M16 shoots a 5.56 round. AK shoots a 7.62 round with a bigger load. But in MW2 and BLOPS multi, they both do identical damage. AK should do more damage, but have more recoil.
Why even put the AK in the game if you are just going to nerf it?

I never realized that Johnson. I am done with this game. WORST game EVER!
But seriously, they made boatloads of money why would they change what they are doing. The game is basically the same as COD4 and MW2. I know how you like new things and I think it's more that you got bored than the game got bad....

1 Brink, is actually a pretty good game, just most players currently approach with a typical COD mindset and lone wolf.
2 COD Polished? Really? I see constant "How did that happen?" "What?" and "bullcrap" moments in that game. I will admit that BLOPS did do a lot better than MW2, but to me the knifing mechanic is still just broken. Controls I will say are very smooth, but that's if you are looking for a twitch shooter. I prefer a slower more tactical game like Battlefield.
3 Bing's point was you can have a lot more fun playing with friends in ANY game. It's the same with games like CS:S and DOD:S for me on PC. I get irritated with DODS due to it's hitboxes issues, but when playing with clanmates it's fun.
4 Saying I only play team tactical doesn't help your argument. I look at the multi as a whole not just one particular match type.
To me every game since COD 4 has been basically the same thing. Just different maps and weapon skins. There are differences in quality sure, but by the time BLOPS came around I just didn't care anymore. I ended up getting it due to some early reviews and was let down. It's basically a more polished MW2, but even then I think it's P2P servers and knifing, and all those crazy moments still hold it back.
And if we got bored it's been because the game has been basically the same. That's my biggest problem with the series after COD4. It's felt like the same game for the past 4 installments. And quality has went down overall imo.

I could only get into CoD with 4 people in a living room shooting each other while drinking beer.
The online aspect just... bugged me.
Wraps it up nicely.
As mentioned before, it's like WoW or any other game. Tons of people still enjoy it, it would be hard to convince them to change their ways.

Yet, you aren't going to reply directly instead try to dodge my points and just post a smile. I have no quarrel with those that like the game, as long as you admit it's flawed. It's not the MOST AMAZING THING EVAR!!!! Or what not.

Lol, I'm not a big fan of "pushing people around" Bing. You are entitled to your opinion, I have never played any of the COD games online. The only online shooters I have played is Halo 3 and Homefront... Halo 3 easily being the better of those two.

Lol, he doesn't even really defend it just some of the ideas behind some of it. Most of us here will agree that COD has re-introduced some great things for multiplayer. When I'm talking about COD players I'm not even going for the swearing teen but the whole Lone Wolf Camper mindset that simply doesn't work in a game like BFBC2 and most other objective based games.
Notice he glosses over the fact that each game has been a copy of the last.
I know how much you love Sterling Steve 0, but he doesn't really give me any reason to say COD is any better than what i say now. I know what COD has done for the modern multiplayer game and I respect it for that, I just want the series to evolve and fix the problems that a lot of people have with it.
Think about this though, the one game that really added a big element was WAW with it's tanks. The tanks weren't even done well imo. Thus leaving the biggest change with COD in the past 4 entries to be zombie mode, which to me hasn't gotten any better maps than the one it started with. Zombie mode was a really cool idea but it's not directly related to the multiplayer section we are talking about. Spec ops was it's replacement in MW2, another cool idea. The multiplayer however has not evolved.
With the new screens and what not for MW3, I just can't help but feel we'll get the same game again.

It's not the MOST AMAZING THING EVAR!!!! Or what not. LOL, no...I was and still am just too tired to defend a game that I love. If you don't like it that is fine and of course Black Ops is flawed...every game is. I understand your reasons not to like the game and like someone mentioned above I only play the team tactical portion of the game in MP and that offers ME the greatest experience I have had with an online FPS since MW1. You make valid points and I am also thinking that MW3 will not add anything "spectacular" that will want me to stop playing Black Ops. If it does I will buy it. I also have a strong eye on Battlefield 3 because the 12 minute trailer was EXTREMEMLY impressive. If the Battlefield games could have the same smooth accurate controls like the COD games with better framerates I would be more into them. They also need more small team tactical game modes as well. Either way I play all games that I enjoy and I am very opened minded.

They actually do have a smaller mode in BFBC2 you may want to check out called Squad Rush. 4 on 4.
If you want those smooth controls, play on PC haha. BF just takes a slower approach, but if you have a 2000 DPI mouse then slow becomes a thing of the past.

It got old extremely fast and they need to add more game types like they have in Black Ops. BF games are impressive but the slower approach, slower framerate, and overall slower control is not my style. I do appreciate the damage effects, vehicles, and epic battles but overall it feels as though you are out in the middle of nowhere making no real impact. This is my opinion and I can see how others would love that over the fast smooth gameplay (arcadey) in COD. Please don't get me started on PC gaming.

I don't play Call of Duty (talking about MP..I love COD SP too, especially zombies). I play Halo.
However, you will never catch me saying COD is a bad game, because it's not. It 100% for sure is a noob friendly game though. And I think that's why a lot of people play it..you can easily pick it up anytime anywhere and do decent...other games, like Halo and BC2, you'll have a much harder time doing that.
