There's a test skin im working on

I'm doin just a grey look for if anyone would like that, it's not finished but in your profile you can kick it over and take a look, toss me suggestions for it... But it's just basic, I'm tryin to find a nice lookin light gray.

I am taking it for a test drive. So far, I think it's a good alternative to the light text on dark background. Good to have options.

Cool Bing, yea it's basic but I always enjoyed clean looking boards, i just tried to give it a little ign feel with gray and the blue and black text.

I wouldn't mind doing a few skins in time here.

Give me ideas if you guys have any in terms of colors etc..,

Whoa I feel like I've teleported to IGN! Not too shabby actually, though I don't like the news fader being black on this skin it looks out of place.

Edit: Also just noticed that you can't read Mod names on this skin, go figure

Yea thats the only bad part about the mod names but i think its give or take.

I thought about doing maybe a similar engraved thing BC had but, im still not sure. I think i am pretty close on the IGN colors though.

I'm liking this skin a lot. Very easy on the eyes.

I touched it up a bit here, hopefully some will enjoy this look. Im going to just make a few nice looking skins, just so people have options.

Ok just letting people know that the test grey skin is there to be used, it just gives you a lighter looking board with classic IGN colors for lettering etc...

In your profile Bob there's an option to switch skins, it's like a few options down in modify profile.

found it, looks pretty good, but some things need a little tweaking. Maybe a darker grey for the background of the GO banner. I dunno about the green level bar on the grey background either. Also in general I don't really like the "level stars" on either skins. I don't know if its something that can be changed but its the little things that will really make this board stick out among the myriad of forums out there

Well the only prob is I can have one color level bar altogether, i could try a blue and see if that would be more optimal universally.

The stars can easily be changed, if someone can find or make me a better star for leveling up and it's cool, I'll use it no problem.

What's there is just so something is there.

Well it varies, the level up bar is a code in itself that goes into something called a global footer. Meaning its universal for all skins.

Now as for the icons and all that, yep i can have them different for skins since that integrated into how the board is setup. Which generally if i get new icons, ill plug them in for any skins there are.

Haha i like that too, im all for it. If you guys find me a sweet lookin graphic we can use or if someone can make one, ill definitly use it to change things up.

I planned to do all of that regardless, i just been on a break the last few days since my eyes were boggling with codes

I was thinking instead of stars for the level something game related would be better maybe something like a space invader, or maybe a ship from galaga. something like that



or maybe a different old school character for each level obtained?

as for the "EXP" bar maybe a red or blue color

I like those ideas the problem is figuring out 10 looking characters. BUT...im open to maybe changing it to that length Bob.

The star thing is just neat for Leveling up, star per level...now if we can think of something else that fits like Phoenix said chinese stars or something that can be a little simpler right now i say we go that direction.

But in time, i wouldnt mind working on an idea involving characters but i would want it to be perfect...know what i mean? Like that sort of thing i just would want to be pretty killer overall, but we can definitly work towards it.

I forgot to add the buttons i have on the main page, i added them to the grey skin. You know how those work right?

The top left corner, when its dark black that means new posts. Just incase you werent sure.

The other option for a level bar is orange.

as for characters there is galaga, space invaders, pacman, link, mario, sonic, game and watch, mega man, ms pacman, one up mushroom, fire flower, etc etc

I guess it depends on the blue. Is it a dark blue or like a baby blue? Or just normal? I think a baby blue might actually look pretty good against the background, but it may not show up on the other skin.

also, instead of the URL icon being pb is there a way to change it? maybe to the genesis controller that you have as the logo?
