Woo, so glad there is an NHL board here. lol Im from Vancouver, so naturally im a Canucks fans. (Dont worry, im not a douche like most Canuck fans on HF Boards ) Welcome Under. I would imagine it would be nice to take home the Cup for the first time during your 40th anniversary year. Enjoy it! ^^ potter, at what time do the Caps start thinking they have to make some changes? This team should have won a cup by now.

How long till Boudreau is fired? Surely they can't keep giving him chances.

Not really Boudreau's fault that Semin and Backstrom disapeared in the playoffs. (Again)
I still think he has 1 more year, and if there isnt a final appearence then hes gone.

I don't know they keep flaming out. They are pretty young overall and I think a lot of these players are in place. I know it isn't Boudreau's fault but I would be shocked if you doesn't go. It is easier to replace the coach rather then the whole team. They just have a lot of players that don't show up when it really matters. I did see somewhere today though where Ovechkin said everyone liked each other and got along.

I believe lack of playoff preparation is the coaches fault. Also, you don't fire players. You fire coaches. If an organization continues to win conferences, presidents cups, etc, but can't get out of the 1st and second round of the playoffs, then they aren't being prepped very well.

Bing I agree mostly. I do think there are certain instances where a coach can prep you until he is blue in the face but at some point the key players also have to step up and if they don't all the preperation isn't going to help. Maybe they just have too many players that when the pressure is on they fold. Maybe pressure situations aren't in their makeup. Who knows maybe they are not being prepped properly. Either way the coach always takes the fall.

Oh, and the Flyers need to get a real goalie.
Embarassing.

The Flyers needing a goalie! I am pretty sure I have been hearing that since the Eric Lindros days. It is the one thing they haven't had. A big time goalie.

The Detroit/San Jose game is pretty damn good. Sharks up 1 to nil in third and Sharks goalie Niemi is outstanding so far. Stopped like 38 shots. Awesome game.
Edit: Just like that Wings tie it up.

10 minutes to go and the Sharks had a 1 to nil lead and Detroit scored 2 quick ones and then added an empty netter. San Jose has blown 2 third period leads in the last 2 games and can't close out the Red Wings. Playing with fire.

Oh, and the Flyers need to get a real goalie. Embarassing. Under, you may have made THE comment of the 2nd round. Seriously, that team was so built to win the Cup except for in between the pipes. Ridiculous...and I hate the Flyers but it is still ridiculous.

San Jose pulls it out. Then there is an epic battle between the Vancouver and San Jose to see who can choke the hardest in the West Finals.

I'm rooting for you man. I would like to see the cup come back to the East. Definitely would prefer Bruins over Tampa. The cup doesn't belong in Florida.

Tell me about it! Tampa doesn't deserve it! Are there any hockey fans down there?

I am happy San Jose pulled it out. They really tried to blow it. It feels like it was 8 years ago the last time I saw the Lightning play. Both series should be good and honestly I wouldn't mind any of these teams taking the cup although my first choice would be the Sharks.

I'd like to see Vancouver v. Tampa only for the sheer fact that it will be a duel against 2 ex-Islander goalies.

Boston travels to Vancouver for Game #1 Wednesday night! I actually have $20 on the Bruins (we do draft order picks at the beginning of the post season) but I wouldn't mind seeing the Cup brought back to Canada. Not to mention the fact that I may get a chance to hang out with the Cup if the Canucks win! My brother and I used to play hockey with a guy who's son played with Ryan Kesler back in the day (he's from Michigan). Kesler was at my brother's wedding and pal'd around with us at an organ donor fundraising event this past fall. EDIT: I'm assuming that he's going to bring it to my above mentioned former teammates house for a bbq party because the guy has them all the time. Interesting story, right before Kesler was drafted he actually gashed his leg pretty bad fooling around in the guy's pool. He couldn't skate for a while. Sorry for the double-post but the Bruins spanked Vancouver last night 8-1!
Here's the recap:

My thoughts have changed so much on this series.
The Canuck's have been so douchy that I can't believe I am now hoping for the Bruins to win.

I've been rooting for the Bruins all series because I don't want the Cup to go to Canada. No offense to any Canadians here, but I'm a USA homer.
Other than that, I concur. I'm so sick of seeing the Nucks trying to dive, whine and cry their way to a Cup that I can hardly stand it.
